Matt - Owner

Matt Wallace grew up in a small rural community around construction and logging. As a young boy he was into anything mechanical and that had an engine. From BMX to dirt bikes he not only rode them he built them! Limited on Money meant making due with what parts he could scavenge or trade. He earned a reputation as a good wrench and at the age of 15 he was offered a job at the only repair shop in town. High school was more about shop class than anything else. He even taught the Auto shop class for his Senior project. By his senior year he was working as a heavy repair mechanic and running a field service truck. In 1998 Matt committed to Wyoming Tech and recieved a scholership for auto mechanics. 

1998-1999 Matt attended and completed the Diesel program at Wyoming Tech in Laramie, Wyoming. After graduation he accepted a position at 101 International (Navistar) within 3 years he made journeyman (usually a 4 year process). After 5 yrs Matt moved to Boise and took a mechanic job at Lake City International where he strived to become international diamond certified. After 6 months he made foreman and in 2006 became the service manager. In 2009 he decided to go out on his own and opened a shop in Boise working on semis, trailers and pickups where the shop became very successful. In 2019 Matt made the decision to part ways leaving the business Deranged Diesel Repair of 10 years to his partner and start a new shop Demented Diesel & Auto LLC. Matt is multi- talented and was looking to share his skills in a broader range within the industry.
